Gift wrapping and packaging
I don't offer gift wrapping as I try to keep costs and material waste down as much as possible. Most items are wrapped with a band of white recycled tissue paper, and a MyMaineDesign sticker - maintaining the least amount of weight and product that will be tossed after opening. :)
Storage and Care of materials
All fabric, threads, and items that have been made are stored in my studio in a large closet to keep the sun, heat, cold, humidity, dust and cooking odors from discoloring or damaging the fabric. I use all cotton quilting fabric. Solid colors are 'Kona' cotton which is a longer cotton staple, which also makes it very durable and thicker to the touch. The studio is in my home and climate controled.
Longevity and Creativity always in mind
I do not use any commercial or computerized designs in my emroidery or free motion quilting. I understand the graphic arts and use them to assist with card making and such, but for any original paintings or ANY work on fabrics it is all by hand, by mind, and by will while using my single stitch sewing machine. On purpose. I recycle all of my fabric and only use 100% cottons unless otherwise specified. Denim, Canvas, Muslin, and Recycled Canvas as well. My end goal is that you have an item that will stand up for years in design, use, and enjoyment. Etsy was started for at home artists, crafters and sewers to showcase thier handmade works for sale. We love what we do and I don't plan to bring in any thing else but my handmade.
